Optilight IPL is an in-office treatment that uses specific wavelengths of light to reduce inflammation of the eyes and eyelids, enabling oil-producing meibomian glands at the lids to better lubricate the eyes and reduce dry eye symptoms. Optilight is an FDA-approved treatment for dry eye disease due to meibomian gland dysfunction.

A Solution for Dry Eye Disease & Ocular Rosacea

IPL effectively reduces redness, and inflammation, making it a great option for treating dry eye disease and ocular rosacea.

Added benefits of IPL include: improves eyelid skin texture and fine lines & wrinkles, evens out red and brown spots at the lids. It can also treat dark under-eyes by targeting the melanin and capillaries.

Collagen is a type of protein in your skin that helps support its structure, strength, firmness and elasticity. Around age 20, you start losing about 1% of your collagen per year. Loss of collagen equals wrinkles, sagging, thin and dry lid skin. Luckily you can regrow natural collagen in the correct conditions for a skin-tightening effect. IPL effectively increases the rate of collagen production while simultaneously targets inflammation. This is why you may have heard some call IPL treatments "photo-rejuvenation."

You will see subtle results after one treatment, but will get optimal results after a series of treatments, followed by maintenance treatments.

Did You Know?

Dry eye can be caused by a parasitic infestation on your face and lids by Demodex mites?

Do you ever feel the sensation that something is crawling on your face or lids? Do you experience itchy, red, bumpy skin? It could be related to an over population of Demodex.

Demodex are eight-legged parasites that bury themselves into your eyelash follicle to sleep. They come out at night to play, eat and defecate. They feed on your dead skin and oil. YUCK!

It's so important to keep the Demodex population down so that you don't experience symptoms and cause permanent damage to your eyelids.

Treatments include, but not limited to, are IPL, prescription eye drops, lid hygiene, ophthalmic grade tea tree cleansers, and hypochlorous acid treatments.
